Description: Being both an active paragliding pilot and a sailor, Mr. Hartmut Schädlich had - still back in the nineties - the idea of using some concepts and ideas of paragliding to improve the performance of spinnakers for sailing boats and yachts. He had the feeling that such a combination would result in easy sail handling and in a much safer and more pleasant sail trip. The basic idea was that a wing, positioned in an opening of the sail, would generate lift and relieve the pressure on the bow, reducing the inconveniences and optimizing the advantages of sailing with a spinnaker.
