Number of Reviews/Comments: 0 More: As Bekking embarked on the immense task of piecing together the best solutions to the hundreds of options faced in creating a syndicate with race-winning potential, he remembered one of the things he enjoyed the most during the last race: "One of the things I like when I'm in the middle of the ocean is sharing my experience with those onshore. It's not always easy to communicate the feelings encountered flying over the waves - or even crashing into them- doing 30 knots of boat speed; the highs and lows, the fears and even the tears, both of joy and sadness. strong feelings are ignited by a strong experience. Last time, I really enjoyed writing the daily report for movistar and I know there were lots of people at the other end following the story as it unfolded."
"I've always thought that it would be nice to have an opportunity to make these reports more personal. This time we are 11 guys onboard including a media crewmember, looking after the media side and writing most of the reports we send from the boat. One benefit of this is obvious - the rest of us will be able to focus more on sailing as fast as possible. But I still want to share my personal views of this great experience and as part of that I've decided to create my own website with the goal of engaging with the wider public and showing that sailing is more than results, records, tactics, speed and competition. The human aspect of this sport is something that is worth to sharing and exploring."
