17. X-332 EXHILARATION
Welcome to the web site for our beloved sailing vessel, Exhilaration. The boat is awesome, but the team of passionate friends and sailors that makes her go is the true Exhilaration! Exhilaration is a 33 foot sloop, built in Denmark by X-Yachts, Exhilaration is moored at the City Island Yacht Club in Bronx, New York, and is sailed primarily sailed on Long Island Sound. The previous owner needed to get his exwife off the boat loan and given that he had been thinking racing in one design would be more fun than PHRF, he decided to sell Exhilaration. As the team was really clicking and had won a good set of races in 2006, the crew didn't want to see the boat go and the team fall apart. Besides, owning the boat is the only way to get the position you desire. So, two members of the crew bought Exhilaration. Now they just need to sell Sean's boat Starlight. And the rest, shall we say, is history.

19. Drum - The reunion sponsored by Northstar Property Group
It is 20 years since the fateful day in 1985 when Drums keel fell off and the 24 crew took a reluctant swim in the English Channel. We are getting as many of the original crew together to sail Drum (Kindly loaned to us by Sir Arnold Clark and now called "Arnold Clark Drum") so that we can go out and finish the Fasnet Race that we started all that time ago. While it is going to be good fun for all involved one of the prime objects is to raise money for the RNLI who were there to help us when we needed them. Although 6 people, including Simon Le Bon, were trapped inside the upturned hull, luckily no one lost their lives.

21. Sailrocket, the outright world speed sailing record contender.
SailRocket employs a wholly different concept (first documented by Bernard Smith in the 1960s’) in which the sail and keel elements are positioned so that there is virtually no overturning moment and no net vertical lift. When used correctly this concept results in a boat which no longer has obvious stability limits and in which the only significant response to gusts is a change in speed!

22. The schooner Atlantic project - The recreation of the most awesome schooner of all time...
Schooner Atlantic project website. - The recreation of the most awesome schooner of all time. Commissioned by New York Yacht Club member Wilson Marshall, the Atlantic was launched in 1903. William Gardner, one of America's foremost designers of large yachts, designed her. From the moment Atlantic went to sea, it was clear that she was an exceptionally fast and beautiful schooner. When a yacht in 1903 hits twenty knots during her sea trials, she is a promising yacht, but even then nobody could imagine two years later this yacht would set a record that would stand unmatched for almost a century.
