While many of us dream of one day sailing the oceans of the world, those of us living in land-locked Gauteng cannot gain sailing experience on the sea during weekends and free time. So does that mean we throw our hands in the air and give up? No way! There are several dams within an easy hour's drive from most parts of Johannesburg and Pretoria and, though experience gained here is no substitute for actual time spent at sea, it has to be better than nothing.
