Welcome to IMOCA.org - Open 60 Class Association
Open 60s are one of the fastest boats in sailing - built in carbon fibre using the latest hi-tech structures, they are designed to be as light as possible (for speed) but strong enough to withstand the worst the seas can throw at them. They are designed from the outset to be sailed just one person. There are very few comforts aboard, and she will spend most of the time in the 'crash' seats in a cuddy that separates the open cockpit and deck from the Navigation work station. This is the nerve system, packed with electronics and computer equipment to help navigate, check performance, and communicate.

British International Six Metre Association
We intend to keep our members aware of events and news and encourage those interested to join our Association.
Owning a 6 Metre is not a pre-requisite; an interest is!
The class has two sectors; the Classics pre and the Moderns after 1965. Both race together, the faster Classics "mixing it" with the Moderns. We are affiliated to the International Six Metre Association and meet regularly at European and World Championships

Shorthanded Sailing Association of Australia
The Shorthanded Sailing Association of Australia (SSAA) is widely recognised as the peak body for this dimension of yachting in Australia. We provide an empowering, competitive, educational and social forum for sailors, uniquely enabling them to sail shorthanded in a community of other like-minded individuals. In doing so, we provide sailors with the opportunity to grow and achieve their personal goals in shorthanded sailing. Within the SSAA, member's goals are diverse and include serious racing aspirations, shorthanded cruising and building seamanship skills. Other members are interested in purely social aspects of the association, or in contributing to the continued development and acceptance of all forms of shorthanded sailing in Australia and internationally
