Admiral Yachts, Manufacturers of '38 and '50 Foot Angelo Lavranos Catamarans in Cape Town, South Africa. Admiral was borne from David Bird's somewhat extreme love of sailing. As a young man, if it floated, he was at the helm. The turning point came in 1999 when David met Craig Moore, an equally avid sailor with a keen eye for craftsmanship. The first Admiral was produced that year from a subdivided factory in Cape Town and her sea trials in the challenging southern ocean proved beyond expectation. Modelled on the Nose Be by Angelo Lavranos, the capable catamaran reached 22kts under sail and achieved 5-star reviews.
