Posted on 27 April 2012

On Thursday afternoon, the America’s Cup World Series arrived in Venice, aboard the Dutch cargo ship Anjerliersgracht, following a four day trip from Naples.

The ship docked in the Grande Basin of the Arsenale, where it will discharge it’s load of more than 130 shipping containers, AC45 catamarans, support boats and team equipment.

The ship will be unloaded over the next couple of days before the event staff and team shore crews get to work assembling their bases.

The first AC45 could be sailing in Venice as early as May 8th, the first day the teams will have access to a craning facility to step their wingsails and launch the boats.
